This 5.2-mile course takes place at Buttermilk State Park. This course starts at the far end of the parking lot where the Buttermilk Falls Campground Access Road begins. It then heads up the hill, onto the service road (never the Rim Trail!) and around Treman Lake before returning on the same course. You also do not have to run the 1.25-mile loop around the Larch Meadow that’s part of the FLRC race course.
There is paid parking ($10) within the park, or you can park at one of the businesses slightly closer to Ithaca on Elmira Road. An Empire Pass is worthwhile if you visit state parks frequently.
