The 8.2-mile Black Diamond Trail course is about as simple as it gets, being a straight shot on the Black Diamond Trail from Cass Park in Ithaca to Gorge Road in Trumansburg. However, you can also choose your own adventure since it’s entirely acceptable to run it entirely in one direction or the other, or start at either end, run to the middle—it’s up to you to turn around at 4.1 miles—and then go back. If you want the fastest time, run from Trumansburg to Ithaca to take advantage of the slight downhill grade.
