The 40th Annual Skunk Cabbage Classic
10K & Half-Marathon Road Races
10:00am Sunday April 10
Barton Hall, Cornell University | FLRC | 10K and Half-Marathon

This year marks the 40th consecutive running of one of Ithaca’s oldest and largest road races, with your choice between USATF-certified 10K and half-marathon distances. Join 1,000 other runners along Ellis Hollow’s scenic countryside as the skunk cabbages start to emerge in early spring!

We are unable to use Cornell’s Barton Hall this year and are working on finding a new staging area. Once permits are finalized we will update information on the location and any changes to the course. We hope to use most of the same roads as the original course, but with a different spot for the start/finish line.

Bib Pickup and In-Person Registration

Bib pickup is available the day before the race, Saturday, April 9, from 11 AM to 5 PM at Finger Lakes Running Company (700 Cascadilla Street, Ithaca—next to Purity Ice Cream).

Bib pickup is also available near the start line on race morning, from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. If you can’t make it to the Finger Lakes Running Company the day before, please allow plenty of time to pick up your bib.

Race Times and Starting Lines

Half Marathon: 10:00 AM — starting line location TBD.

10K: 10:15 AM — starting line location TBD.

Please plan to arrive early enough to allow time for parking and getting ready to run!

Online registration is required. Unlike in previous years, there are no paper entry forms. Registration will open when we finalize our permits and we will provide the link here.

If you expect to take over 3 hours to complete the half-marathon, please contact the race director. The cut-off time for both races is 1:00 PM. After that, there will be no support on course and the finish line will be closed.

Interested in volunteering? This is a large-scale event that we couldn’t put on without help from individuals in our wonderful community. Please contact race directors Vinny and Nichole Cappadora at to sign up as a volunteer.
