FLRC Track Leaderboard

A few notes about the FLRC Track leaderboard:

  • Our results go back only to about 2011, which is as far back as we have electronic results.
  • People are entered under various names, such as “John Smith” and “Johnny Smith.” We can combine those, so if you see one that needs fixing, email Adam Engst with the preferred name.
  • Some results have a yellow background and a rank of 0. Those indicate results that are too good—they’re better than the world record for that age. In most cases, they stem from inaccuracies in hand timing, particularly for the sprints, where a volunteer overanticipating a finish by a half-second can result in a too-fast time.
  • Some events lack an Age Grade column. That’s because no world records are maintained for that event, so we have nothing to calculate from.

There are also known problems that we’re working on:

  • Ages on the athlete pages reflect one of the results, not the athlete’s current age.
  • It is not uncommon for athletes to accidentally enter (or be entered) with the wrong gender. If you see such an error, please email Adam Engst with the correct information.
  • There are many blanks for ages in the results when ages weren’t recorded. We’re working on a way to calculate those when we have sufficient data.
  • When there’s no age for an effort, we can’t calculate an age grade for it.
