Life has certainly set us all on an unexpected path in 2020, and due to public health concerns, this year’s race, originally scheduled for October, has now gone virtual! With the incomparable beauty of Keuka Lake as our guide, participants can choose their challenge option: virtually run or walk the entire 73-mile perimeter of Keuka Lake or make your way tip-to-tip from Penn Yan to Hammondsport (22 miles). Challenge yourself or form a team, and record and track your daily mileage online. All participants will receive a one-of-a-kind, special edition race shirt.

Need some motivation to maintain your fitness or manage the stress of current events? Join the Keuka Comfort Care Home’s “Life Is A Journey” virtual race around Keuka Lake. Beginning on September 15, on your own schedule, run or walk outside or on a treadmill. As long as you are walking or running for exercise, your mileage counts toward your daily total and at less than a mile per day, you can easily complete your challenge in the allotted time of three months. It’s all on the honor system, but you can record your miles and track your progress on the dedicated race website to help keep you motivated.

Many of our usual plans and activities may have been put on hold this year, but we can still get out, stay fit, and—most importantly—keep ourselves and our communities safe for all. All race proceeds after expenses will go to support the Keuka Comfort Care Home, whose mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care to those who have reached the end of their journey is more critical than ever.
