The Race: The Forks in the Forest 5K is a cross country race contested at beautiful Chenango Valley State Park. The event is in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation-Central Region.
This race is predominantly flat and runs on trails, grass, and paved or gravel service roads. The course has been wheel-measured and GPS-confirmed and will be run rain or shine. The walk course is a flat 2.0-mile course.
The race is a fund-raising event for the Chenango Forks Dollars for Scholars and all proceeds will be used to provide scholarships for students that reside in the Chenango Forks School District. Last year the Dollars for Scholars provided 35 students with grants of nearly $15,000.
When: Sunday, April 26, 2020 Race starts at 2:00 PM
Where: Registration and race start is located at the Pine Plains Pavilion at Chenango Valley State Park. There will be NO FEE to enter the park.
Online registration ends on April 24 at 12:00 PM. Race day registration at Pines Plains is from 12:00 to 1:30 PM.
Prizes: $50.00 Prize to Top Overall Male and Female Runner. There will be prizes for the top male and female in four age categories—19 and under, 20-34, 35-49, and 50+.
T-Shirts awarded to all participants who register by April 5. Pot luck immediately following the race.
