The Finger Lakes Runners Club is proud to offer mini grants to support and encourage youth participation in running events. The Finger Lakes Runners Club (FLRC) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, community-focused organization focused on promoting physical fitness and mental health through running. We are dedicated to the love of running—as a sport and a way of life—for fun, for fitness, for camaraderie. We wish for the mini grants to help remove barriers to entry to the sport, and encourage participation.
Suggestions for grants include:
- shoes
- team tents or other equipment
- uniforms or jackets
- assistance hosting a meet
- assistance with creating a course or group running opportunity or event
Organizations looking for support with fundraising races may also request non-monetary support from FLRC. On occasion, FLRC provides timing and finish line assistance to other races. Contact our Timing Team coordinator, Adam Engst for more information on how FLRC might support your race.
How to Apply
We encourage coaches, parents, and athletes to apply for mini grants. Grant requests for items that total less than $1000 will be considered by the Philanthropy Committee, while requests for more than this amount will be considered by the Board of Directors. You may apply at any time. Grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will make every effort to process grand requests in a timely manner. Expect a response in about 4 weeks, with funds distributed within 14 days of a positive decision.
