The Whitman to Whitman 84 5K trail/walk run takes place in Canandaigua, NY. 17 & Under may register for FREE. This is a trail run on the property of beautiful Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua, New York. All proceeds and donations go to the Town of Gorham Historical Society Building Fund.
This race commemorates the 40th Anniversary of “Whitman To Whitman in 84”. In 1984 the Marcus Whitman cross country team (boys and girls) ran from Rushville, New York to Walla Walla, Washington. (Marcus Whitman was born in Rushville and established a mission near what is now Walla Walla in the 1830s. There is a Whitman College in Walla Walla, thus Whitman to Whitman.)
