An Ithacan, Mike McGurk, 22, ran away from the field to win the 15-th running of this race. The course had to be shortened by 3.1 miles as a landowner denied us permission to run the course that we used the first 9 years of this race, but Mike would have easily set a course record for even the first 9 years at his pace. Linda Grossman of Rochester also had an equally impressive time, also likely to have demolished the women's record on the old 21.1 mile course.
